Our 2009 Mission Trips

Each year, Glenshaw Presbyterian Church sponsors two youth mission trips: one for the junior high and one for the senior high. These trips are opportunities to put our faith into practice. We dedicate a week of our summer to serve Christ, wherever he is. It is a journey like no other -- a time where we grow as a community of believers and a time when we learn what it means to be a disciple of Christ. The mission trips are a chance to grow spiritually in a way that is difficult in our own comfortable environments. Our mission trips always take us out of our comfort zone, to walk with Jesus in a place we never thought we'd be.

From June 22 to June 29, our Senior High Mission Team traveled to Santa Fe, NM to work with Habitat for Humanity and The Food Depot. We stayed at St. John's United Methodist Church in Santa Fe throughout the week. On our last day, we stayed overnight at Ghost Ranch and visited the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum.

Here is a link to an article that Pastor Mike wrote about the Sr. High trip for our church newsletter.

From July 19 to July 24, our Junior High Mission Team participated in Camp Crestfield's "Mission Possible". We spent the days doing mission work at various sites in Pittsburgh, Slippery Rock, New Wilmington, and New Castle and we spent the evenings participating in camp activities and games.
