History of Christianity Class

Christianity has quite a history. There were popes, saints, martyrs, and heretics. Some of those heretics weren't so bad ... Martin Luther and John Calvin, for example. Presbyterians often don't know a whole lot about the history of their faith. We at GPC will try to change that by holding a class on the history of Christianity.

Throughout the 2007 - 2008 church year, the class will spend two weeks studying each century from the birth of Christ to the beginning of the Reformation. (We'll study the Reformation next year). Our textbook will be A History of Christianity: Beginnings to 1500 by Kenneth Scott Latourette.

This class will be held twice weekly in the Church Parlor: on Wednesday mornings from 10:00-11:00 AM and again on Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:30 PM. There is no charge for this class and the textbook is provided free also.

All members and friends of GPC are welcome to join this class. If you have any questions about the class, you can call Glenn Waldschmidt at 412-486-8927.
