Extended Communion

"The serving of extended communion is a simple yet profound ministry. With a small gift of your time, you can become an ambassador of God's grace and love to some of the wonderful members of our congregation. And you'll find in the process that they are a blessing to you as well. Will you join us?"
-- Rev. Dr. Mike Hoyt

All church members who are interested in serving Extended Communion are welcomed to participate in this ministry. You can elect to serve one or more Sundays throughout the year and you will be teamed with one other church member. You can choose the month(s) you are able to serve Extended Communion.

The intent of Extended Communion is twofold:

  1. To strengthen the pastoral care ministry of the church to its elderly, disabled, and homebound members by making it more feasible for them to participate regularly and frequently, along with the rest of the congregation, in the Lord's Supper.
  2. To make our celebration of the Lord's Supper a strong sign of the unity of the church by regularly including in the church's communion those who are unable to gather with the worshipping community.

Extended Communion is designed to connect with people who desperately need connections to the church. It is a way to minister to others who need and want to be ministered to.

Please contact the church office if you are interested or have any questions.
